Life in a Day

A movie made entirely on viewer videos sounds like a drag, but believe me, it was a surprising and entertaining twist to any average movie. On, July 24, 2010, Youtube told the world to film their lives. Then, a grouop of elite movie producers will edit the videos into a full length, fully entertaining movie about the comparisons and contrasts of life in one day. It was happy, sad, shocking, scary, gruesome, unsanitary, adventureous, and boring; because a life in one day is one million stories in one.
Some scenes that were memoriable to me was the scenes of the poorer class people and the people that make life from nothing. For example, i enjoyed the scene when the africans were making a home in the jungle for their family. I enjoyed this part because I would like to make a home for myself. I also like this section of the movie because it helps me realize that somebody's life is always harder than mine-not that my life is hard- and I learned that I take things for granted.
I had a postive reaction when I saw a little kid in a spansish country making money with his own job that he had shining shoes.
I had a negative reaction when some cattle herders killed a cow because the way they did it was bloody, inhumane, and sudden. They shot it in the head twice, let it die, and then cut its head off.
Some patterns in humanity is everybody had a love and a fear, everybody woke up to the same sun, and everybody was working to help them and thier family.
A juxtapostion that I saw was the movie showed clips of people with a lot of water, and then they went to clips of people with no water in dry areas.
I enjoyed how the film showed so many areas of life and I would recommend Life in a Day to anybody.
