The SCOTUS case DeShaney v. Winnebago County 1989 is probably the most important Supreme Court case to me. Throughout Joshua DeShaney's life, his father has abused him. In 1989, Joshua DeShaney mother finally reported him. She Sued the social services of the county saying they should protect Joshua from his father... The constition did not protect child abuse and they lost the case by six votes.

This is important to know because it tells people it is not the goverments responsibility to watch over every child in the States. If a parent or someone who know an abused child is concerned,they have to speak upand notify somebody.

Asynchronous Development

Asynchronous Development is typical in gifted students. it is when the threee things that grow
1. Physical
2. Emotional
3. Intellectual
but because a student is gifted, one or more of these ways of growing are not in sync with eachother.

I have not really experienced this.

Being Gifted

     To be honest, I like being considered "gifted" but to tell others I'm gifted makes me feel just weird. Being gifted is definitely a plus however! I feel like I'm so blessed to be gifted because i am able to do so many things; things like achieve high grades, be creative, understanding, a leader, musically inclined, responsible, and so much more. I excel in all these attributes and activity's because I AM gifted.
being gifted however  has its drawbacks.
So the disadvantages of being gifted are

• I'm not challenged enough in most of my classes
• I am swamped with activities ( like my band) cause I use those "gifts" as much as I can
• Being gifted can be demeaning and people will label u as geek or nerd (trust me) but that just means that in 20 years, they will be your employee :)

Otherwise, being gifted is a blessing

1st post EVER!

hello world of blogging! :)  My name is Ryan  Francis Kreutzberg. My favorite subjects in school are ROGATE, Algebra, writing with Chorba :) and anything that has do with MUSIC!!
